Hi There,

I'm planning a 1-day sale on my website where I want to let people name their own price. When someone buys my product, their email address is automatically added to an Aweber email list-- this is how they receive the digital product.

In experimenting with setting the price to $0.00, I noticed that people are not added to my Aweber list automatically UNLESS they check the "receive email updates" button on the free checkout page.

Is there any way to edit the free checkout page to explain that this is required to receive the product? Or is there any way to have that option happen automatically and not give them the choice (so it happens automatically like when they pay for my product?)

Thanks,

Ethan (Cloud Coach)

The Free Checkout page is an aspect shared in common among all merchants subscribed to our service, so it cannot be customized for any one seller. Paid checkouts using PayPal would be opted-in automatically because PayPal has no opt-in/-out provision on their checkout site, but if you intend to permit free checkouts, then it has to be up to each customer to opt-in deliberately.

If you need to have all buyers opted-in automatically regardless of checkout price or method, we can recommend using MailChimp, which does not depend on opt-ins because they use a different integration method than Aweber:
