hey i am using Fat Free shopping cart integrated with Access DB. I need to know if there is a variable i can pass that will set the shipping as a flat rate. Right now i can only do a $ amount per item or percent of cost per item. Anyone have any insight? I would greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried only specifying a Handling charge? I'm not certain (since we don't really support Fat.Free.Cart), but I seem to recall it adds any Handling charge just once to each order, and if there's more than one product with a Handling charge in the cart, then it adds whichever Handling amount is greater. I might be presuming here it works similar to E-junkie cart (aka "Fat.Free.Cart Pro"), which does have cart-wide Shipping settings that include a once-per-order Handling fee.

The handling charges are also applied per item, not per shopping cart. I appreciate the suggestion though, and any others you may have.

Hm, then what I described may have been something we'd discussed but have not implemented for FFC quite yet. As a free service offered with no promise of any support whatsoever (technical nor developmental), FFC honestly gets fairly low priority in terms of any resources we dedicate to it, particularly regarding feature enhancements.

An upgrade to E-junkie cart would provide the setting you need but would also require manually configuring products in your Seller Admin here, although you can specify your own custom Item Numbers to make dynamically generating button code at your end more feasible.

Perhaps there's some setting in your PayPal or Google Checkout account that can apply a Shipping fee during checkout, although I'm not certain whether that would be possible if no Shipping fees are being added in the cart before checkout (since usually enabling Shipping in the cart is what triggers address collection during Checkout).

Again, i really appreciate your effort on this. I hesitated to even ask because i know you dont support the product. Unfortunately it looks like i am on to plan F, G, or H i cant remember which one i am on now.

thanks again,
