My client has event-specific discount codes, and has 3 set up. These will be tracked in Google Analytics. I'm noticing that there is a "Codes applied: Current Promotion" discount that's being applied to all purchases. I don't have a "Current Promotion" discount set up. I want it so that ONLY if a promotion code is entered will the discount apply. Otherwise, they get charged full price. How do I stop it from doing this?
Figured it out. I thought each discount code needed its own discount name, so code XYZ would have the name XYZ. Instead, I need to create a name like "10% off," then put all the codes that were 10% off under that name, in the code box.
Yes, the "current promotion" indicates a discount that has been configured without any Discount Code(s), so the discount is getting applied automatically to every order which meets the Min. Item Qty./Total threshold(s) for that discount.Every discount needs a unique Discount Name (that's how we distinguish one discount from another), but any discount can be configured with a list of Discount Codes that would grant the same discount, and you can even use the same Discount Code for multiple different Discount Names, so the buyer would only need to enter one code to apply multiple discounts. This help page explains our discount settings in more detail:http://www.e-junkie.com/ej/help.discounts.htm
