My cart was working fine and then overnight it just went down. You can add to the cart but cannot check out with PayPal, error message:

cURL ERROR

cURL ERROR: 6: Couldn't resolve host 'api-3t.paypal.com'

Nor can you use a Credit Card. Anyone know why this would happen or what I can do?

I have a support ticket but it might take until Monday if it's one business day and I've got to run a business!

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Sally,

No worries, we're here all week and we've already answered your ticket.

These errors only come up when PayPal itself is down... I still haven't found any announcements from PayPal but the reason they are down is a DDoS attack on Dyn DNS, a major domain name provider that serves PayPal and other sites. I've found the update thread for Dyn itself and posted it in our service status forum here:

Surprisingly few people have contacted us about the issue so far so I'm not sure how many people are being impacted by the outage. It's still possible to connect to PayPal to checkout after repeat tries, but these connection errors are still occurring and are also impacting other major sites like Amazon and Netflix.

Thank you so much for the reply! I will keep an eye out and hope they resolve the issue quickly!
