On my last two orders I didn't receive the usual sale notification email(s). I only received the inventory notification. I've checked the transaction log and it shows the payment status as "completed". I also contacted PayPal and they confirmed the transactions have both cleared. Since I always get an email notification and I haven't updated my account preferences I thought I might reach out to the e-junkie gurus for some added insight.

Found problem under Edit Profile. The email notification was unchecked. Not sure how that happened.

Thanks for letting us know! A few others have reported the same thing, I'm wondering if that setting was changed in the update, or if the box is simply no longer checked by default so that any update to the profile disables the notices. I'll pass it on to our dev team.

Tuesday we fixed a bug in the new Admin that was enabling Sale Notification emails whenever the user changed that preference, regardless of whether the change involved enabling or disabling it and regardless of how the checkbox later actually appeared in the new OR old Admin.

Along with this bugfix, we corrected a few bogus database entries for that setting where it was apparent the user probably intended to disable notifications via the new Admin at some point in the past. The few users affected by this correction would have stopped receiving notification emails afterwards, and can now re-enable them if desired by going to Edit Profile > Receive E-junkie sale notification emails.

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience resulting from this, and of course you can always obtain details about any past order from your E-junkie Transaction Log.

I also was not receiving notice emails. This thread set things right. Thanks.

This seems to be happening again. I set my preference to get the emails and it fixed it but logged in again to check transactions (never going near my preferences or profile ) and I stopped getting the emails again so it seems to be resetting whenever I log in

Thanks for reporting this. Last Wednesday evening we implemented a fix for a bug in Edit Preferences that could inadvertently disable notifications; however, if you logged in more recently than that and didn't submit (or even view) your Profile or Preferences before your notifications became re-disabled, there may be something we've missed. I've logged this bug report with Development for further investigation.

I think the problem is back. Out of 5 sales I had within a 30 minute period, 2 were missing the e-junkie sale notification email, while the others had it. S

Is there a fix (or a temporary workaround) for this?

Thanks,

Sale Notifications being enabled/disabled would not be sporadic, affecting some sales and not others; it would affect notifications for all your sales across the board, but we fixed that bug over a month ago and have not seen it return, so something else is probably happening for you.

First, check your Spam folder and mark the notification messages as Not Spam if you find them there. Also bear in mind some email providers often have significant delays in sorting inbound email delivery to recipients' actual inboxes, so they may yet show up in time.

Next, check your E-junkie Transaction Log to see whether the un-notified sales are listed in there. If not, that indicates we didn't even process the order yet, so we would not have sent any notification, as that gets generated when we process the order. Presuming you're seeing payments in PayPal that aren't showing up in your E-junkie Transaction Log, this troubleshooting page will help you sort out the reason for that:

Thanks for your quick reply!

Let's hope this was an isolated incident, as this has never been an issue since Feb 2013 that I've been with you guys.

(if it helps you troubleshoot: it's not in Spam, notice emails haven't been delayed by gmail - not yet anyways, the payments are all complete, not e-cheques, or anything like that)

We've had a handful of other reports similar to this, all of which seemed to pertain to email delivery to addresses @gmail.com (or domains which use Google Apps/Gmail to handle the domain's email), so it seems Gmail may have had some sporadic delays in email delivery from last night to early this morning. Did you finally receive the missing Sale Notification emails by now?

Any affected orders were processed normally, so thank-you emails were sent to the buyer right away, though if they had a Gmail address there may have been a delay in actual delivery to their inbox there as well.

I am having the same problem. It wasn't a google issue nor a paypal. Even "Send Free Download Link" will not go out. Please help.

Hi Bookmann,

We're still investigating why your emails are not going out, we haven't had any similar reports like this recently. We'll be following up with you via email as soon as we have found the problem.

As you mentioned by your email, everything went normal only after I removed the Korean characters from the product name and in the profile info. Very odd but technically understandable. Since I am selling ebooks in Korean it will be very important to shoot this in Korean but temporarily I can survive. Please see if you can solve the issue. Thanks for all your work.
