Bear in mind that any download is only as fast as the slowest link in the route, which is usually the buyer's own connection to their ISP. This download calculator is helpful to estimate download times for various file sizes across various connection speeds (most residential broadband links, where even available, range from 256kbps to 1.5Mbps):

You might also consider using our built-in SwiftCD integration to have them automatically duplicate and mail a physical DVD to buyers on-demand for you whenever an order comes in:

I was suggesting that, as an alternative to selling your DVDs as downloads, you could sell physical discs, automatically duplicated and sent by SwiftCD. If your file is larger than a few hundred MB, simply mailing a disc could be far easier and less problematic than expecting buyers to babysit a download for anywhere from an hour or two to a day or two -- e.g., a full DVD holds about 4.7GB of data, which would take nearly two days to download over a basic 256kbps DSL connection!
