Download options seem excessive

It has been a while since I went into my shop to check things, but a buyer's concern prompted me to go in and have a look.

I think in the past, once the purchase of an ebook was complete, the buyer would receive download links and use them to get the product.

Now it seems, after purchase, the buyer is taken to a page with buttons to download the product. But the buyer is also sent download emails.

I tried it, buying six ebooks. I was taken to the page with buttons. I downloaded the files. Then I went to my inbox. The six emails with download links were there, but when I tried to download the files I was told the links no longer worked.

Seems very confusing, though maybe I am missing something.

Should add that I have two accounts, one for Canadian currency, the other for US. The problem was with the US account.

Just tried the Canadian one and it seemed to work normally. Perhaps I have a button ticked in the US account that I am not aware of.

We send buyers a thank-you email with a link to reach their thank-you/download page in case they need another chance to attempt their download, or in case PayPal took longer to complete processing their payment than it took the buyer to finish checkout and proceed, in which case they'd only see a generic thank-you page advising them to watch their email for further instructions.

Note the link we provide in the email is not a direct download link, so a Right-click > Save on that link won't work. That link just brings up the buyer's thank-you page where we provide their actual download link(s), which expire according to the link-expiration limits you set in each product's settings.
