Download and physical shipment in one item

I think I don't quite understand this yet ... or maybe I'm trying to do something impossible.



I'm selling radio plays that I want to offer both as a download or as a physical (shipped) CD. I want the "Add to cart" button to offer both, and the resulting sale either sends the buyer a download link (if they chose the download variant) or sends me an "order" to burn a CD and ship it (if they chose the CD option).



Can this be done? I tried it with one item, but I'm not sure I've done it right.

This can be done with our Variants setting for a single product if you want to provide the download for one price and download+CD for another price, giving buyers a menu option to select their preference before they click Add to Cart. If you want to offer a download-only and CD-only version of your product, then you would need to set those up as separate products with their own Add to Cart buttons.

Has this possibly been enhanced since 2009 to do what I need? That is, offer either a physical CD or a download as variants of the same product?

You can still use Variants to offer a single product in download-only and download+CD versions at different prices. If you only want to offer the CD without a download, you can set up the CD and the download as separate products.



BTW, if you wanted to use automated disc fulfillment, SwiftCD is now apparently out of business, but some other disc-fulfillment services can now integrate with E-junkie:
