Do I need a certain account plan for this?

Hi,



my product is that someone submits text, and it is customized into a styled high-resolution image dynamically.



I want to allow them to purchase this high-resolution image through E-Junkie (a low-resolution version is shown before buying).



Do I need a certain E-Junkie plan for this? I noticed that some plans are marked "Can issue downloads from any Web server?", but I'm not sure if that applies to me.

The "issue downloads from any Web server" feature allows you to store your files on a server of your own rather than storing them on our servers directly. Files stored outside our servers do not count towards the space allocated to each subscription plan.



This would not be relevant to what you are trying to do. In fact, because you wish to send each of your buyers a unique file you would not be able to use our file delivery service at all. We can only deliver copies of one file that you upload ahead of time.



You can use our cart to collect the text and notify you of an order, but we will not be able to automate the display of a low-resolution display ourselves and you would have to create and deliver the custom image on your own.

That's cool. I take it that I can pass the unique image ID through the checkout, and then bring them automatically back to my server providing that ID? With that ID I would then generate the unique file for them.



Does this mean that I do need to choose a plan that allows me to "issue downloads from any Web server"?

Actually, since it seems you would not be using our download delivery service at all, you could just use any "tangible goods only" plan that allows the number of different products you want to sell.



To pass your custom image IDs to checkout, you could have custom scripting in your site that adds that variable to your Add to Cart button URLs:

You would probably be using our custom/3rd-party Integration feature to send the order data (including custom or variations values) to the URL of a custom script at your end:

If you would redirect buyers to a custom thank-you page on your site after checkout, the &custom= value can also be appended to your page URL for each order, so scripting in your page could read that value from its own URL with every visit to do what you wish with it:
