Discount Codes Are Simply useless

I want to have a promotion where the first 200 customers that buy any tangible product get a free USB flash drive with their order. So I thought, "okay ill make a usb product and a discount code for its value that has a max use count of 200 times."



However, E-junkie makes this simple task impossible because a discount codes settings ONLY APPLY TO THE ITEM BEING DISCOUNTED. Why isn't there a "Min Cart Total" for a discount code instead of "min item total"??? I only want the discount on the USB drive when another tangible item is being purchased.



And no, I am not using the tedious "bundle" items feature because I have about 50 tangible goods and im not creating 50 new item bundles.

Sorry about that, but our discount feature was never intended to cover this particular circumstance. If you would like to give away a free gift to the first 200 buyers I would recommend manually by packing the USB drive in the first 200 orders that you receive and ship out after the promotion has begun. That way there's no reason for buyers to have to add a special free product or try to use a code they might enter incorrectly. Your sales records will show exactly when each order was received so there's no question about who ordered in time or not.

I want to run multiple discount codes at the same time. Is this possible?



For example:



I'm offering a 10% discount to group "A" on all cart items (which is already up and running).



I want to add a 10% discount on ONLY SPECIFIC ITEMS IN MY CART to group "B" at the same time.



I realize, of course, that it will require different codes (if it's even possible), but I see no way to run multiple promotions at one time.



I am on the free 7 day trial, if that makes a difference, but plan on buying it at this point.



Any suggestions?

Yes, at any one time, a buyer's cart can have at most one discount applied to each of the following, in any combination:



- The cart's Item Total (All Cart Items);

- The cart's Shipping amount (All Cart Items);

- The price of each item in their cart (product-specific).



Make sure you give every discount a unique Discount Name, as that's how our system distinguishes one discount from another. You can, however, set up multiple discounts with the same Discount Code, to allow buyers to enter just one code to apply multiple discounts.

I just don't understand why a feature like this is not included.



Alternatively, Why can't bundles of physical items be made? And is that feature ever going to be implemented?

We'll add your discount suggestion to the wishlist for consideration as a possible new feature at some point in the future.



Our bundling feature to "Package files from other products or affect their inventory" does exactly that -- it lets you create a separate product that issues download links for files already uploaded to other products and/or affects the quantity in stock of other products that use Inventory Control. Note that this does not work like actually purchasing the other affected products individually; the bundle product is still its own, distinct product.



If you don't need your bundle product to do either of those things, then you don't need to use any special setting to create a product bundle; you just create a new product that consists of whatever you wish. E.g., if you have Product A and Product B, you can simply create a Product C that you understand to be equivalent to ordering A and B together, without having to use any special setting.
