Discount codes applying twice

I have set up a number of discounts of my account to give a set amount off specific products.
When doing this I gave each one 6 different codes that could be used and this then generated 6 individual discounts for each item.

BUT when I test it on my site it's applying each one twice giving people double the discount they should be getting. Each one can then be removed individually.

For example if they're buying an item and using the code 'newsletter' which should give them £2 off when they add it to my cart and update it shows it as being applied twice and they get £4 off instead. I can remove either of them and then the discount drops down to £2 instead.

This seems to happen to all the 98 items I have added the discounts to and using any of the 6 discount codes for them.

A discount code will trigger any associated discounts that use that code, and this can cause double discounts when the code is used for both a "Cart Item Total" discount and an "Item Unit Price" discount because the item price will be adjusted and then the overall cart total as well.

You'll need to review the discounts you've created to be sure that you aren't using the same code for both of those categories to avoid double discounts. We just received your email and I was able to find the discounts that were causing your problem. Since you have so many it was easiest to make the fix myself while I was in there, so it's all taken care of and I replied with the details.

For anyone else who has the issue- out of my 600+ discount codes one of them was set to apply to the basket total and had the same code as 100 others so people were getting both applied at once
