Different shopping carts for different countries

We sell ebooks, We do about half our business in the US and half in Canada. We price in Cdn $, which PayPal converts to US $ for US buyers.

Because we want to do off-site promotions and advertising in the US, we would like to set a fixed price for Americans so they know exactly what they will pay rather than an unknown based on an exchange rate.

So we think we would like to have separate shopping pages with separate shopping carts, one that would be seen by Americans, the other by Canadians.

Does anyone else here do something similar? Is there a simple, automatic way to direct US and Canadian traffic to different pages? Would we need two E-junkie accounts to have two shopping carts?

Our website is built on Wordpress. I have found geo targeting Wordpress plug-ins that suggest they will solve our problem, but not sure that is the best solution.

You can do that with a single E-junkie account, by adding duplicate products priced in the other currency, and you can use the Clone Product button in Manage Products > Edit Products to do that fairly easily.

However, our cart can only handle one currency at a time for each buyer -- adding an item to cart priced in different currency would reset that buyer's cart and start over -- so you'd want to minimize the chances of buyers inadvertently wandering between your US vs. Canada sales pages.

Aside from GeoIP plugins for WP that might handle that automatically, you could just have all your site's shop/buy/purchase links go to a page where the buyer clicks US or Canada to reach your sales page(s) for the chosen country. From there, they could only reach other sales pages for that country and non-sales pages of your site -- i.e., they couldn't reach a sales page for the wrong country without going through the US vs. Canada "funnel" page again.

Okay, I cloned the six products, giving the clones US dollar prices. I also upgraded my account to allow for 12 products.

Then I realized I might have a problem. I had discounts for those who buy all six guides. Now the same discounts in Canadian currency are applied to the US-priced guides, which is too much. I can't figure out how to apply different discounts to the different packages of guides.

Maybe I do need two accounts.

Anyone have ideas?

You may just need to edit your discounts to change the Flat Amount discount amount to an equivalent % Off, which would cover differing prices by currency.

Unfortunately that won't work now. Wish I had thought of that before I ordered a mess of posters. Guess I will have to sign up for another account. Assume that will be a simple thing to do.

Should be simple, but note that if you want to receive payments to the same PayPal account, you'd need to add a Confirmed secondary email to your PayPal account, so you can use that as the PayPal Email for your new E-junkie account.

Do you mean that I will have to sign in to a new E-junkie account with a new email address? Then I would have to add that address to the PayPal account that I use to receive payments?

Weird thing is, when I originally signed up with E-junkie I did so from a different PayPal account than the one I receive payments.

Your E-junkie login email, the PayPal Email where you receive checkout payments, and the PayPal account sending us your monthly subscription fee are all unrelated -- they can be the same or different, as one doesn't affect the other(s).

However, each E-junkie account needs a unique login email, and a unique PayPal Email not shared with any other E-junkie account. To receive checkout payments from two E-junkie accounts to a common PayPal account, you can add a Confirmed secondary email to your PayPal account, then use that as the PayPal Email for your second E-junkie account.

I signed up for a free 30 day account. Maybe that was wrong. I can switch it over to a paid account if it is the cause of my problem.

I signed in with a unique email address and password.

I get the page with the short video. I click on the link below.

"1. Tell us where buyers will pay you"

The profile page comes up, and within a second the email changes to the address I use on my other account. The password is not visible, but appears to have same number of characters as my password of other account.

I switch both back and click "SUBMIT".

The page switches the email to the one for my other account. Appears to change the password. At the top of the page is a message: "PayPal email already in use!"

Not sure how to proceed. Should I delete all the E-junkie cookies I can find?

All accounts in our system are the same, and they always start with a 30-day free trial period. Now, about this part:

That sounds like your browser's auto-fill or password manager may be overwriting the account's actual info when that screen loads. Right now I'm seeing your original account with a login @ Gmail, and your new account with a login @ your custom domain. You don't yet have a PayPal Email entered for your new account, which cannot use the same PayPal Email as your original account.

Also note you cannot be logged into multiple accounts at the same time in the same browser; whichever one you log into last would take over your login session for all tabs of that browser. However, you can use a different browser app, or use a Private/Incognito window in the same browser, to log into a different account.

Yes, used another browser and had no problem signing in and the various options were not filled for me and could be edited.
