Your instructions say "Enter random numbers and alphabets in the "Secret Key" field. " But do I HAVE TO enter this information for each product or is this optional? For CB, it's optional but is it compulsory for ejunkie? Is this another reason I can't succed in coordinating the two?

Yes, that secret random key is necessary. It's not for "each product" but for the whole account and just needs to be entered once.
