We are going to start storing our DownLoadable Products on our site, currently we are using ejunkie storage. How do I switch existing product storage from ejunkie hosting to remote hosting? More specifically, Does the remote url automatically negate the existing ejunkie hosting? Do i have to "remove" the uploaded file from ejunkie?

Thanks

If you enter a Remote File URL in a product's settings that URL will always be used regardless of any file you might have uploaded previously. So you don't necessarily need to remove anything you have uploaded so far, you can just enter in your URLs and proceed from there.

If you have less than 500 MB of data uploaded on our servers you're good to go, but if you have already uploaded more than that you may want to delete some of that data. There's not a "delete file" button in our settings but you could just upload a small text file in place of your original product. That smaller file will be completely ignored as long as you have entered a Remote File URL.

interesting, thanks.

We have 441 item(s), 1837.75 MB, and my client wants to lower costs, thus the move.

So if you have an even more efficient process available - (well, other than deleting original product, and starting from scratch).... I'd better get to work.

thanks again, I appreciate the rapid response.

Once you set up the Remote Product File URLs, we may be able to delete all uploaded files for your account in one fell swoop, so then you'd only need a digital-capable plan that can accommodate your 441 items, which would be our $60/mo plan.

To confirm your identity and attend to this request, we would need you to email our Support team with your E-junkie account password, or your original activation code would suffice if you still have your original "Account information" email from us:

Unfortunately, we don't have any easy way to mass-update existing products (such as adding remote URLs) in a batch.

That sounds perfect. I'll set up the remotes then get back to you re: deleting the uploaded files. Thanks.

FYI:

as you requested, I have sent a message via contact form re: deleting uploads...

Thanks again for you quick and helpful responses.
