Hi there! Right now I only sell digital downloads, but in the next couple of weeks I'd like to start selling physical products, too. The only problem I can think of is that sometimes I run sales on my digital downloads that I WON'T want to apply to physical products. Is there any way to create a discount code that's only good on downloadable items?

Or maybe a way to apply the discount to everything except a specific list of products?

I know I can set a discount to only apply to one thing in the store, but I have hundreds of downloads for sale and I'd hate to have to go in and make a code for each of them.

Thanks in advance!

You can create a series product-specific discounts that all use the same code for different items, so the buyer just needs to enter that one code in their cart, which would apply the discount to each item in their cart which has a discount matching that code.

This help page explains more about our discount settings:

Wait ... I thought this was what I was looking for at first, but now I'm thinking it's not.

So, you're saying I have to go in and apply the same code to each of the digital products I want to sell at a discount, one at a time? There's no way to select a bunch of items and apply one discount code to that group of items? That is what I was hoping for.

If I have to apply them one at a time, it's gonna take me forever. Boo :frowning:

Yes, that's what you'll have to do. We don't have any way of applying a discount to a group of products, or creating a common discount that exempts only certain products, all at once in one fell swoop; you would have to create a separate discount for each individual product.

i second that feature. we have 570+ products, 220 of which need to be discounted.
