Hi Everyone,

I have just one product for sale, and one friend who is going to be an affiliate. I've set up a product-specific affiliate deal for her, but we're wondering if it's possible to get a button code for her website that will allow people who purchase the item through her site to do everything directly on her site, without leaving/being directed somewhere else. Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated! I'm a bit of a dinosaur with technology, and it's a minor miracle that I've even made it this far.

Thanks so much!

That would use a Direct Link instead of a Hop Link, as explained in more detail here:

If your actual intent is that this friend should get a share of all sales revenues for that particular product, and/or to distinguish which sales came from their site vs. yours, the best way of going about that would not involve our affiliate system at all -- see our recommended approach for this scenario here:

Thanks for replying so fast!

Does the custom partner thing (adding &custom=partner to the link) add a column for source of the sale to the transaction log? (Asking because my friend sells her own book through e-junkie, and her transaction log doesn't show the source of the sale...but she has no affiliates, and the only source of her sales is her own site. I guess what I'm asking is, by using that partner code, I'll be able to see whether the sale came from my site or hers, correct?)

Thanks again!

Yes, when a &custom= value gets specified in the button URL for any given sale, that will show up in the "Passed Custom Param." column of your E-junkie Transaction Log for that sale. This help page section explains more about passing a 'custom' value:

Since your partner is selling other products of her own with E-junkie, you'll probably want to provide her with a Buy Now button for your product, rather than an Add to Cart button. Products from different seller accounts can't be added to the same cart for purchase together, so using an Add to Cart button could confuse her buyers. Buy Now buttons bypass the cart to take buyers directly to instant checkout for just one item at a time.
