For this I simply ask buyers who told them about the product they are buying.



Can I gather buyer input during purchase ? if not, where's the best place to do so, the thank you page or one of the emails ?

You may wish to consider using our built-in affiliate system to track referrals to your site and calculate commissions for sales generated as a result of those referrals:

Otherwise, we don't really have a way for buyers to enter a general comment about their order in the cart before checkout, and we don't have much control over the third-party checkout sites we use (e.g. PayPal), so putting a comment form in your thank-you page may be the simplest approach.
