Wordpress e-junkie plugin instructions are incomplete?

Hello.

I need some help configuring a shop on my WordPress site on which I recently installed the e-junkie plug-in (from 3 days ago). After installing and activating, I followed the plugin instructions, like this:

• WordPress > e-junkie > Settings > Shop Setting.
• I entered my Cliend Id, and Client API Key.
• I did not use WordPress to create a "Shop" page, but I entered "shop" in the Shop URL.
• I gave my shop a friendly display name.
• Clicked Save
• WordPress > e-junkie > Settings > Shop Preferences
• Put product in the Pinned Up, Pinned Down, and Hidden boxes. (I have a working e-junkie integration with a non-WordPress site, so I have product.)
• Save.

I get the equivalent of a 404 when I try to go to my shop.

Do I need to do something with the page and/or product templates? Perhaps I wrongly assumed that those are the defaults and that my shop would be rendered similar to my e-Junkie Marketplace shop (which I wanted).

Thank you for your help. I'm sure that I'm missing something simple, but I cannot find any instructions that fill-in the dots for me.

Hi Sue! Sorry for the trouble. The plugin is new so there may be a few issues we need to iron out on our end as well. Could you please give us a link to your site and/or your login email so that we can check everything on this end?

My website is https://www.civilwarcycling.com. I am using the latest version of WordPress. My login email for e-junkie is inbox at pobox.com. Please let me know if you need me to look at any log files (especially if you think security settings could interfere with the e-junkie plugin).

Development updated the plugin a few days ago, so try removing the plugin, then reinstall it. Also, I noticed you do have a blank page at https://www.civilwarcycling.com/Shop/ , so if you didn't enter "Shop" (with a capital-S) as the Shop URL in your E-junkie plugin settings, the presence of that page may be interfering with the plugin.

If this doesn't resolve the issue for you, please take a screenshot of your E-junkie plugin settings and email that to support@e-junkie.com

Development just rolled out an update to the plugin due to "an issue because of which empty shop/product pages were rendered", which sounds like the problem you reported. Try updating your E-junkie plugin and see if that resolves the matter for you.

Also, I notice you entered your Shop URL as https://www.civilwarcycling.com/Shop/ with a capital-S, so bear in mind that https://www.civilwarcycling.com/shop/ (lowercase-s) would come up Not Found.

Using WordPress, I would like to upgrade to the version that was posted on 11/18, but unfortunately, e-junkie did not update the version number (it is still at 1.0.0). This is preventing Wordpress from enabling the button to let me upgrade. In other words, Wordpress says that the latest version is installed, which is no longer true.

Thanks for bringing that to our attention; I've referred that to Dev for correction. Meanwhile, you can upgrade by fully removing the plugin, then reinstall it.

Ok, I did that. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the latest release displays my shop.

The bad news is that it is displaying my "TEST" product that I did NOT select for pinning.

Also, after dactivating and deleting the plugin, I'm not wanting prior configuration information -- especially product settings -- to reappear in what I was hoping would be a fresh installation.

Pinning only determines which items appear at the beginning or end of your Shop index; unpinned items would still appear in the middle, between pinned-up and pinned-down items, unless you deliberately pin them as Hidden.

Also, you can omit your API Key setting to have your WP Shop only display "public" items -- i.e., ones that you've also chosen to list in your E-junkie Marketplace Shop. With the API Key entered, the plugin shop will display ALL of your E-junkie products, regardless of whether you've published them to your Shop in our Marketplace.

Thank you. I see that I misunderstood the pinning behavior. (I removed the API key from my plugin settings.) The real issue appears to be this:

(1) In my e-junkie Marketplace Shop: Pinned Down product (in my case, bundles) is not displaying. I have waited several minutes for changes to take effect, no luck.

(2) In my WordPress site (using e-junkie plugin), bundled product is not appearing as an option in any of the "pinned" dropdowns.

P.S. - I believe that e-junkie Buy Now/Cart buttons are working for all product on my NON-Wordpress/NON-e-junkie site

I've confirmed the issues you described and found no reason in your settings to explain why your bundle items are not appearing in your E-junkie nor WordPress plugin shops, so I've referred the matter to Development for a closer look.

And yes, none of this would affect any regular Buy Now/Cart button codes you'd pasted into sales pages elsewhere.
