Wordpress complains that e-junkie plugin generates unexpected output (when activated)

I am successfully using e-junkie Buy Now and Cart buttons on a non-Wordpress site, and now I thought I'd try a self-hosted WordPress site. So it seemed logical to try the new WordPress e-junkie plugin.

When I activate the plug-in, I get this message, which immediately "inspires" me to deactivate the plug-in:

"The plugin generated 247 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin."

Looking for advice on my next steps.

Please verify you are using our official new plugin named E-junkie WordPress (rather than the long-obsolete unofficial plugin named WP E-junkie Shopping Cart). Here is the page for our official new plugin in the WordPress plugin directory:

Yes, I am using "E-junkie Wordpress plugin to generate Shop or Product pages.
By E-Junkie" Version 1.0.0 that was updated 2 weeks ago. I installed and activated (then deactivated) this version from within Wordpress.

I am aware that your plug-in is optional, but when I talked with e-junkie support yesterday, they indicated that the plug-in prevents issues that prior WordPress users had experienced in how HTML was rendered. If that's correct, then I thought it made sense to use the plug-in.

Development has updated the plugin, so try removing it and then reinstall it.
