Sending product updates and newsletters to buyers and non-buyers

 
What are buyer groups
Buyers are automatically placed in the group of the product they have purchased and you can also manually add other people to buyer groups by goign to Admin > Add email to buyer update/mailing list.
 

Sending Updates
Go to Admin > Send Updates. Select the product you want to send out and select the buyer group you want to send it out to and press "Calculate Cost". Once you make the payment (via PayPal) using, the button provided there, the update will be sent and you will be informed once all the emails are sent.

The e-mail which goes out will be exactly as you have configured in your product configuration so make sure you have the subject and body right. You can preview the email which will go out by sending yourself an email from Admin > Send free "thank you" email

If you have "Send payment data to server" option enabled for your product, we will still post all the relevant data to the URL you have specified in your product configuration.

We put a delay of 1 second between sending each email.

   
Sending Newsletters
Go to Admin > Add Product and add product which does not have any options checked on the left (download, redirection etc.) and enter the subject and email body you want.

Go to Admin > Send Newsletters. Select the product you just added and select the buyer group you want to send it out to and press "Calculate Cost". Once you make the payment (via PayPal) using, the button provided there, the update will be sent and you will be informed once all the emails are sent.

Removals and updating contact information
When you refund a payment, the buyer is automatically removed from the mailing list. If you want to add the buyer to the list again, you can do that from Admin > Add email to buyer update/mailing list.

Pricing
Before you send the update, you will be shown the cost to send the update in the Admin and you will need to pay it using the button there to send the update. Our pricing for updates is calculated based on the following rules:

(2.0 cents
+ 1.0 cent per file (if applicable)
+ 0.4 cents per MB of the file (if applicable)
+ 1.5 cents per email if your product needs keygen and/or needs information posted to your server
+ 0.5 cents if your product uses stored codes) x Total number unique emails in the list

Note: The minimum cost of sending an update is 1USD.
